Coffs cricket season in full swing with one day matches

A NEW Coffs Harbour cricket season is back in full swing with the bulk of the annual T20 Cup first grade matches having been played across the region.

Now the latest Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s 40-over one day season is underway with the opening round decided recently, and the third round scheduled to be played this weekend.

Round 2 matches were scheduled to be played last weekend but were washed out due to the recent wet weather.

Defending first grade premiers Diggers Cricket Club Inc. host Sawtell in a rematch of last season’s grand final at Fitzroy Oval, during this weekend’s third round matches.

Diggers continued where they left off last season beating Valleys Cricket at home in the opening round of the 2021/22 first grade season, while Sawtell lost their season opener to Nana Glen.

The other third round match sees the Northern Districts Rebels hosting Nana Glen in Woolgoolga.

The Rebels will be playing their first game of the season having come off the opening round bye and a washout, while Nana Glen got their season off to a winning start with a victory against Sawtell.
