Cricket season gets underway with T20 matches

THE latest cricket season got underway with a bang last weekend with the opening rounds of the North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League T20 competition played in Sawtell.

Sawtell Cricket Club started their premiership defence of the Premier League T20 competition in fine style with a 76-run win against the Coffs Colts.

The Lower Clarence Cricket Association’s representative side also started the T20 competition in fine fashion winning both their opening games against Valleys Cricket and Coffs Colts.

Valleys Cricket won their second match of the day beating the Northern Districts by 31 runs.

Sunday’s scheduled matches were washed out.
