Northern Beaches Blues first team to beat Breakers

THE Northern Beaches Blues have become the first team to beat the Coffs Harbour Breakers this season, with the Blues winning 14.7 (91) to 10.11 (71) in their top of the table clash at Fitzroy Oval.

Locked at 41-41 at half-time, a dominant third quarter by the Blues sealed the win as they kicked four goals to one in the premiership quarter.

The Northern Beaches Blues women also became the first team to beat the Breakers in their competition, winning a one goal thriller 5.3 (33) to 4.3 (27) in their top of the table showdown at Fitzroy Oval.

The Port Macquarie Magpies seniors side consolidated their top-four position with a 65-point win against the Lismore Swans, while the Sawtell/Toormina Saints edged out the Nambucca Valley Lions by 5 points.
