
WITH the Big Bash final decided last weekend, the region’s own T20 champions were also crowned.
Sawtell Cricket Club added another trophy to its extensive trophy cabinet beating the Northern Districts Rebels in the North Coast Cricket Council’s T20 final.
Openers Richie Gallichan and Alec Baldwin got the ball rolling for Sawtell with an opening partnership of 110, as Baldwin smashed 51 off 40 balls while Gallichan scored 54 off 48 balls as Sawtell finished on 6/151 from its 20 overs.
Gallichan then had the Rebels reeling at 2/11 as the Sawtell captain dismissed the two openers taking 2/12 from his 3 overs.
Charlie Howard and Trent Dierick also took two wickets each as the Rebels were bowled out for 109 in the 19th over.
Jesse Buckle also made a good cameo taking 2/4 in his 1.3 overs.
The Coffs Colts also won a T20 title taking out this season’s T20 Cup with an 8 run victory against Nana Glen in their grand final at Ce.x Coffs International Stadium.
The Colts opened the batting in the T20 Cup and scored 8/114 from its 20 overs.
Tony Slaviero top scored for the Colts with a captains knock of 39 from 36 balls.
The Colts bowlers needed to step up and perform to defend the total, and they duly delivered restricting Nana Glen to 5/106 from 20 overs.
Matt Francis took 2/11 from 4 overs, while Scott Jennings took 2/18 from his four overs.
Hayden Cekanauskas top scored for Nana Glen finishing on 38 not out.
