
Diggers Cricket Club Inc. have maintained top spot on the ladder with an 85-run victory against Nana Glen at Fitzroy Oval, during the latest round of the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s first grade season.
Diggers opened the batting in their one-day match finishing at 6/202 as Mitchell Williams top scored with 46 while Ty Adams was next best with 40.
Nicklaus Stanlan-Velt was the best of the Nana Glen bowlers taking 3/36 from his 8 overs.
The Diggers bowlers then get the job done in impressive style bowling out Nana Glen for 117, as captain Jonathon Paff led the way taking 3/12 from his 8 overs.
The Northern Districts Rebels maintained second spot on the ladder with a seven wicket win against the Coffs Colts.
Colts opened the batting in their one dayer at Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park and were bowled out for 115 by the Rebels, thanks largely to a super spell by Parvinder Nagra who took 4/17 from his 6.1 overs.
Sawtell moved up into third spot on the ladder with a seven wicket win against Valleys Cricket at Richardson Park.
The Sawtell bowlers restricted Valleys to 7/119 from 40 overs, with Scott Griffiths the standout taking 3/23 from 8 overs.
Sawtell reached the total in the 23rd over led by Brendan Foote who top scored with 65.
