
THE Coffs Colts have made a statement to the rest of the Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s first grade competition, after becoming the first team to beat the Diggers Cricket Cricket Inc. twice this season.
The Colts bowlers took over in their one-day match at the Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park, dismissing Diggers for 97 as Scott Jennings produced a super spell taking 4/16 from his 7 overs.
The Colts made hard work of the chase to win by three wickets as Ryan Gilkinson led his side home finishing on 38 not out.
Sawtell did its semi-final chances a big favour with a 79-run win against the second placed Nana Glen.
Brendan Foote produced a great captain’s knock for Sawtell scoring 77 as his side finished on 180.
Nana Glen were then bowled out for 101 with Mark Weiley the chief destroyer taking 5/15 from his 6 overs.
Round 12 also saw the Northern Districts Rebels move to second spot on the ladder with a 68-run victory against Valleys Cricket in their one-day match in Woolgoolga.
The Rebels opened the batting and posted 146 with Baltej Mangat top scoring with 56.
The Rebels bowlers then did a demolition job on Valleys dismissing them for 78, as Parvinder Nagra took 4/18 from his 8 overs while Angus Rissell took 3/14 from his 5.5 overs.
