Premier League mid-season review

As we head into the early stages of 2021, the North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League season has reached its mid-season point.

Here’s how the teams have fared so far this season.

Sawtell: (5 wins. 1 loss.) The defending premiers have continued their winning ways this season with their only loss coming against Valleys Cricket in a one-day match.

Sawtell won it’s opening three T20 matches of the season and both it’s two-day matches against Harwood and Valleys.

Valleys Cricket: (3 wins. 3 losses.) After finishing their debut Premier League season at the bottom of the ladder, Valleys have been the big improvers this season and are the only team to beat the ladder leading Sawtell so far.

Northern Districts Rebels: (3 wins. 4 losses.) The Rebels have struggled for consistency this season encapsulated by runs of both consecutive wins and losses.

Harwood: (2 wins. 5 losses.) The inaugural Premier League champions in 2019, the team from the Clarence River have struggled to recapture that form this season and need a big turnaround to claim another Premier League title.

Clarence River Cricket Association: (1 win. 1 loss.) The representative side has played two games this season splitting the ledger including a win against Harwood.

North Coast Cricket Council’s Development squad. The squad played its first game recently against Sawtell and are set to play a number of matches in January.
