Sawtell Cricket Club have gone to the top of the North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League ladder after a three-wicket victory against Valleys Cricket in their two-day match at Richardson Park.
Resuming at 4/48 and with the game in the balance with Sawtell needing a further 116 for victory, Richie Gallichan produced a true captain’s knock finishing on 53 not out as he helped to guide his side home.
Charlie Howard also played a vital role in the run chase finishing 41 not out.
Harwood beat Northern Districts
Harwood snapped a three-match losing streak beating the Northern Districts Rebels by 41 runs in their two-day match at Woolgoolga.
Needing 205 runs for victory to begin Day 2, the Rebels were dismissed for 173 with Ben McMahon taking five wickets for Harwood.
