Final round wins for Coffs and Boambee

The Coffs City United Lions and Boambee Bombers will both head into this year’s grand final on a winning note after victories in the final round of the Coastal Premier League’s Northern Conference season.

The Lions won their ninth match from ten games with a 4-0 victory against the Northern Storm in Korora.

The Bombers won their seventh match from ten games this season with a 2-1 win at home against the Sawtell Scorpions.

The Bombers dominated possession but couldn’t capitalise as scores remained locked at 0-0 halfway into the second half.

The Scorpions took the lead with a long-range penalty shot and an upset was on the cards.

But the Bombers responded in dynamic fashion shortly after with two goals in the space of ten minutes turning the match on its head.

The Lions and Bombers play off in the grand final on Saturday at the Ce.x Coffs International Stadium.
