Coffs cricket-season review

The Coffs Harbour District Cricket Association’s 2019/20 season recently came to a close, as well as the North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League season.

Here is the season review of the clubs who shaped a summer of cricket.

Sawtell Cricket Club

The powerhouse club had another stellar season winning the first and second grade premierships and the T20 Cup.

Sawtell’s Premier League side also finished as minor premiers, while the club also dominated the junior competitions winning the under 12’s, 14’s and 16’s premierships.

Diggers Cricket Club Inc

The Coffs Harbour club finished runners-up in first grade after being the standout club other than Sawtell in the top grade.

Diggers also made the semi-finals of the second-grade competition.

Nana Glen

One of the most consistent clubs of the season making the preliminary finals in all three grades.

Arguably the second-best club of the season.

Northern Districts Rebels

Made an instant impact in their debut season in the Premier League, winning four matches including two against Sawtell.

The Rebels also made the semi-finals of the first and third grade competitions, and were runners-up in the T20 Cup.

Coffs Colts

A lean year after failing to make the semi-finals in any of the three grades.

Valleys Cricket Club

The new club made their debut featuring players from Bellingen, Dorrigo, Nambucca Heads, Urunga, and Macksville.

Was a baptism of fire in their debut season, with their Premier League side winning just one game and their first-grade side failing to make the semi-finals.

Bellingen Cricket Club

Won the third-grade premiership capping off a season in which they finished as minor premiers.

Urunga and Dorrigo

Urunga had a second-grade side, while Dorrigo took part in the third-grade competition.

Both did not take part in the semi-finals.
