Sawtell finish as minor premiers

Sawtell Cricket Club have won this season’s Premier League minor premiership with an outright win against the Northern Districts Rebels, during the final round of the North Coast Cricket Council’s Premier League season.

After bowling the Rebels out for 76 during day one of their two day match at Woolgoolga last weekend, Sawtell resumed at 5/114 and finished all out for 173 with Trent Dierick top scoring on 79.

Sawtell ended their home and away season on a high bowling out the Rebels for 65.

Jack Horseman continued his stellar bowling form from day one taking 7/23 from his 8.1 overs as he ripped through the Rebels batting order.

Horseman finished with the match winning figures of 12/42 from his 17.1 overs.

Sawtell will now host this season’s Premier League grand final due to winning the minor premiership.
